What to expect

An overview of what can you expect during the Summer School

Peyresq - 2006 Summer SchoolThe Summer School takes place in a small, remote, picturesque village in Southern France. Peyresq is isolated and connecting to the internet is difficult, but this makes for a relaxed, informal environment in which to learn and share ideas.

The programme typically includes talks in the morning, followed by group work in the afternoon. All talks provide ample time for discussions. As the speakers usually stay for some days in Peyresq, informal discussions often go on till late at night. An aperitif talk is normally scheduled in the late afternoon before dinner.

The afternoon working group sessions aim to enable students to work on real world examples connected to the theme of the school. The groups are small and are guided by tutors. Working groups summarise their results into a synthesis report aimed at policymakers.
