Lake Fish Telemetry Group Workshop in Ceske Budejovice

Exciting developments are underway as progress continues to be made on the 2018-2019 ALTER-Net MSR project. This project, entitled Lake Fish Telemetry Group, is being actively conducted under the leadership of ALTER-Net partner Ivan Jaric of The Institute of Hydrobiology, Biology Centre of Academy of Sciences (BC-CAS), Czech Republic.

The Lake Fish Telemetry Group brings together international groups of researchers performing acoustic fish positioning studies in lakes. Its first telemetry workshop, organized in Ceske Budejovice, took place during November of 2018 and included the active participation of 25 researchers. During this workshop, joint work was initiated on as many as eight project output papers. These papers are coordinated by different group members and will be aimed at high-profile journals for maximum impact. The Ceske Budjovice workshop also resulted in several plans for joint project proposals among group members. Ultimately, Lake Fish Telemetry Group aims to become a long-term research initiative.

In parallel with the work and studies initiated at the Ceske Budejovice workshop, a second workshop is being organized in Arendal, Norway from June 21-23. If you're interested in learning more about this innovative MSR project, follow Lake Fish Telemetry Group on Facebook or Twitter.
